August 2019


Sunday 4th August - Ride-out, to replace the cancelled CCAM MOTOGIRO event. All the great Cotswold Country Roads but none of the questions!. Meet at Seven Springs Layby (small one opposite the Hungry Horse) for 10.00am for briefing - departure by 10.15. A wandering route led around picturesque Cotswold Villages with names containing Upper, Lower, Middle, Lear, Rouse and Abbott where you can imagine how much fun you would have had if you were also looking for clues to find your way! But all you now have to do is follow and enjoy. After a Coffee stop at Chedworth Farm Café, Andy Chilton takes up the lead from Gary Hyett and guides you along equally great roads towards Toddington and the onto the Gupshill Manor where we have tables set aside in the garden to enjoy food and drink at your leisure. This ride out is open to all Full Members and Associates including Pillions and any other guests seriously considering joining the club. Please note - The route does contain some stretches along narrow country lanes but does not go off road down any green lanes.

Sunday 11th August CCAM Super Sunday. 9.00am to 1.00pm at Witcombe and Bentham Village Hall, Pillcroft Road, Witcombe, Gloucester, GL3 4TB...….
It is aimed at all Full Members, Associates and Potential Members and will offer:
Taster Rides for Potential Members, Observed Rides for Associates already in training, Observed Rides for Associates waiting to commence the Advanced Rider Course, Social Ride Out for Full Members and a chance to experience a Group Ride.
Plus free Tea and Coffee and a chance to talk bikes with fellow bikers. 


Sunday 18th August, Festival of Classic Cars, Twekesbury School, just off J9 M5. We will have a presence at this event recruiting for new C-CAM members. Please contact any member of the committee if you wish to help out on the day.

Tuesday 20th August,
Clubnight 19:30-22:00, Gupshill Manor, Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury. - BIKE SEAL Dale will be by popular request returning to display to all and sundry just how good this product is at keeping inflatables up and usable....

Sunday 25th August, Ride-out, PONTICILL/TALYBONT RESERVOIRS meeting at Costa Coffee St Oswald's 9.00am - 4.30pm approx, led by GKB

Saturday 14th September GLOUCESTER POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSION 5TH OPEN DAY. Held at the TRI Centre Waterwells Business Park. 10.00am until 3.00pm This one`s so much fun for all of the family with stalls galore and Police shows to enthrall you all... oh and we will be there, touting of course. This is a great family day and has something for everyone (yes they serve ice cream with chips !) so make it a date in your diary, you won`t regret it.


Tuesday 17th September, Clubnight 19:30-22:00, Gupshill Manor, Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury. - A presentation from our newly assembled Observer Training Team... come along and meet/hear what they have to say.... THEY NEED YOU !!!!

Sunday 22nd September , PROVISIONAL DATE for second
CCAM Skills Days 2019. 09:30 - 13:00, these mornings comprise a series of machine control exercises, with CCAM Observers on hand to advise and help you improve your slow speed handling skills using your own machine. Emphasis will be on Slow Manoeuvring in line with the requirements of the Advance Rider Course syllabus. There will be no braking exercises this time. It is free of charge and is open to all CCAM Associates and CCAM Members; and dependent upon numbers, some guests by invitation. Tuesday 15th October, Clubnight 19:30-22:00, Gupshill Manor, Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury. - Our very own Dave Pinney will be talking to those interested in bike building, Dave has quietly been building `specials` for a very long time and as a result, acquired a mountain of knowledge and skills, whilst a way off yet, stick it in your diary and come along for a what guarantees to be a great evening

Tuesday 19th November, Clubnight 19:30-22:00, Gupshill Manor, Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury. - Wayne Harrison a traveling TT Marshall and Paramedic giving an insight/view of road riding. This evening has extended an invite to other IAM surrounding clubs so come along early before you lose your seat. Given Wayne's interest/support for the Severn Free Wheeler's, perhaps a donation from the shop floor would be appropriate... leave this thought with you all.
