April 2019

Tuesday 2nd April, Committee Meeting 19:30-21:30, Gupshill Manor, Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury, Committee meetings are open for anyone to attend, if you want to see how the club runs or have an issue to raise. 

Sunday 7th April, Ride out to Caen Hill Locks and beyond. Meet at Seven Springs BIG  layby (not the small one) at 09:30am. Returning towards 3:30pm, bit of a wander just enjoying the dry spell led by Graham Bailey

Tuesday 16th April,
Clubnight 19:30-22:00, Gupshill Manor, Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury. - Speaker - Our very own Paul Wellon Belguim Battlefields a taste of a possible week away later in the year organised by Paul if enough interest

Friday 19TH Apri, Rideout. Fancy a run to the seaside, Weymouth in this case. 8.00am (That`s right) Severn Springs (Large) lay by for a prompt start likely to take in Zig Zag hill, Compton Abbas airfield and more. This will see around 250 miles with a return approx 6.30pm First look/taste of the sea this year


Sunday 28th April,
Ride out to SHOBDON AIRFIELD   LED BY ALEX/CLAIRE MAY. Meeting time/ place: 09:30AM Far corner of the Tesco car park at St Oswald's Park closest to St Oswald's Priory,. Shobdon has a cafe and the plan would be to stop for a coffee and a sandwich before coming back. Return Time: About 2.30pm, In case we have to call it off because of bad weather, we'd like to be able to contact people last minute so we'd ask anyone planning on coming to email us using ccam@themays.de and giving us their mobile numbers. Wednesday 15th May 4 night trip to Yorkshire – May 15
th - 19th 2019.
4 night stay in Harefield Hall, Pateley Bridge, Yorkshire. https://www.harefieldhall.com/
There will be opportunities for group rideouts on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday to North York Moors, Lake district and around the Dales. Below are the rooms available on a 1st come 1st served basis
  • 3 large double / twin rooms @ £97 per room per night inc. breakfast.
  • 3 small double / single rooms @ £76.50 per room per night inc. b/fast.

Sunday 19th May. Wilts & Bath Advanced Motorcyclists (WaBAM) invite us to join us for a charity ride around thier "patch", in aid of CLIC Cancer Childrens Charity. Currently there's no plan for a "CCAM group entry", but the WaBAM event is is open to our Members and Associates to enter for themselves. Further detials can be found on this link:-

Thursday 6th June, 3 night trip to South West Wales – June 6
th - 9th 2019. 3 night stay in the 3*** Gwesty`r Emlyn Hotel in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire. Website – http://www.gwestyremlynhotel.co.uk/

Group rideouts will be arranged on the Friday and Saturday.

  • 6 double rooms @ £75 per room per night including breakfast

As the David Silver Museum is 200 miles from us we will stay over in the 3* Cedars Hotel in Stowmarket. Sunday 14th July, CCAM Super Sunday. 9.00am to 1.00pm at Witcombe and Bentham Village Hall, Pillcroft Road, Witcombe, Gloucester, GL3 4TB...….Taster Rides for Potential Members, Observed Rides for Associates already in training, Observed Rides for Associates waiting to commence the Advanced Rider Course, Social Ride Out for Full Members and a chance to experience a Group Ride. Plus free Tea and Coffee and a chance to talk bikes with fellow bikers. 

Tuesday 16th July, Clubnight 19:30-22:00, Gupshill Manor, Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury. - Midlands Air Ambulance Charity - Mary Seldon has kindly offered to give us some facts on these essential services

Sunday 22nd September , PROVISIONAL DATE for second
CCAM Skills Days 2019. 09:30 - 13:00, these mornings comprise a series of machine control exercises, with CCAM Observers on hand to advise and help you improve your slow speed handling skills using your own machine. It is free of charge and is open to all CCAM Associates and CCAM Members; and dependent upon numbers, some guests by invitation. If you intend to be there, please notify a Committee member (user.ccam@hotmail.com) and Associates inform your Observer.
